How hydraulic slurry pumps work?

What comprises a hydraulic slurry pump?

Before talking about the operation process of a hydraulic slurry pump, we have to figure out how many compositions in a hydraulic slurry pump. Under normal circumstances, there are two main systems in a hydraulic slurry pump, drainage and suction system and hydraulic system.The former system includes a feed port, a discharge port, a first material chamber, a second material chamber and a main shaft.The first piston and the second piston fixed at both ends of the main shaft extend into the first material cavity and the second material cavity respectively.While hydraulic system is consisted of a reversing valve, a cylinder, a first oil port and a second oil port at both ends of the cylinder, a stroke adjustment rod, and a proximity switch on the stroke adjustment rod.

The cylinder barrel is arranged on the periphery of the main shaft and is embedded with the third piston on the main shaft and the first limiting end and the second limiting end of the stroke adjustment rod are respectively connected to the first material cavity and the second material cavity. The hydraulic slurry pump combines the suction and discharge system with the hydraulic system.A single piston drives two coaxial pistons to reciprocate to complete the medium suction and discharge, achieving a double-stroke effect, improving the working efficiency of the slurry pump and reducing energy consumption.

The working principles

Similar to the working principle of hydraulic submersible pump,first, the electrical energy is converted into the kinetic energy of the motor inside the motor, and then the motor drives the impeller to rotate, which is an energy conversion process. Then the kinetic energy of the impeller is transferred to the slurry, giving the liquid phase in the slurry potential energy and kinetic energy. The liquid phase in the slurry has a certain initial velocity and then drives the solid phase in the slurry to complete the transportation process together.Hydraulic slurry pumps operation principles are as followings:The rotation of the wave disc on the side of the pump drives the slurry or liquid to move in a circular motion, and finally makes it into a cone under the action of centrifugal force. This treatment method reduces the contact between the slurry or liquid and the impeller, thereby greatly reducing the impact of friction on it.
